Barbara is a practising artist who has been inspired by the beautiful and varied landscape of the Isle of Wight. She spent her childhood on the island and then trained at Portsmouth College of Art. Besides raising a family, she found time to paint and develop her own work and now has many years experience in different types of media and forms of expression. Her subjects include landscape, seascape and portrait.
As you can see from the galleries below, she loves to paint animals, especially horses and dogs. As well as painting many commissions, she has displayed her work at successful exhibitions at Henley-on-Thames. Barbara is a qualified adult education tutor and now gives regular daytime ‘Painting for Pleasure’ classes covering many techniques of drawing and painting, including the use of water colour, oil, pastel and pen and ink. The pictures displayed here are just a sample of Barbara's work. Many have been scanned in from photographs of the original paintings and therefore cannot represent the full quality of the work. The pictures that are for sale include a frame and mounts (on water colours and pastels). If you click on the images you will see enlarged versions, which are best viewed using your browser's full screen option.
